"The Angie"

Always take the stairs
I remember back in college, a friend of mine was training to become a Navy SEAL - he made it a rule to ALWAYS use the stairs instead of an escalator or elevator. His commitment to it impressed me, but it didn't get me doing it - I thought he was a bit out of his mind. Cut to 20 years later - and this rule, his rule, is now my rule. I was walking up to a business meeting from an underground parking garage next to a woman who had a bag and high heels. I suggested we take the stairs. She hesitated, then reluctantly agreed. When we got the top of the third floor, she commented how much more awake she felt. Try it - make it a rule for yourself - it's an easy way to get a little more movement in your essentially sedentary business lifestyle, especially if you work on the 10th(+) floor!

Cill - upside down's as easy as standing on 1 foot!

Today's Workout
Complete as many rounds as possible in twenty minutes of:
10 Thrusters, 65 pounds
10 Pull-ups

I used to do that when I worked on the 8th floor. But this was before I was working out at all (2 years ago) and I would show up all sweaty and huffing and puffing... I wonder what it would be like now??

This was a tough one...

I got 13 rounds, first 11 rounds all unassisted pull ups, last two rounds were about half jumping pull ups.

Adam and Nick both got 15 rounds doing jumping pull ups during the last two rounds.

Great workout.

Good straightforward work out! I did 12 rounds, on the dot - did the women's weight of 45# and unassisted pullups.

Now that I live on the 30th floor and work on the 39th floor, I'm not really sure how "awake" I want to be!

Hey Naveen - how'd you know it was you I was talking to in this post?! Think of the bragging rights you'd have amongst your peers when you head to the stairwell vs. the elevator!

In 2002, while in Paris, I opted to walk the stairs up the Eiffel Tower after having run a marathon about four days before that. I was pretty proud of myself.
