CONGRATS you two!!
Vis a vis training after childbirth, here's a good story about tennis player Lindsay Davenport's post-partum return to the WTA tour.

Hi Everyone -
This is my first time back online since the birth. What fun to find this on the website - thanks Andy
. And thank you ALL for your support and congratulations!
It's a wild ride, childbirth and newborn time. Strange, exciting, scary, joyful, teary, etc. Newborn time is a lot like being in Vegas - clocks don't mean anything.
Short story - crossfit and my time at PF most definitely assisted me in making it through 30 plus hrs of labor and then a c-section. Not just the physical work - also the mental stamina to hold through some pretty intense moments.
I'll fill anyone in on the details who wants to know more of the story (it's a story I'm learning to own and be proud of), and - crossfit is MOST definitely assisting me in recovery. I was up out of bed the next day, able to walk, walking more each day with minimal pain and taking minimal pain meds. Today I did a 30 minute walk, and getting up and around is feeling about 75-80% normal, minus the sleep deprivation.
Dawn was right - birthing is a lot like Crossfit - for me, somewhat longer than a class, however, the end result - BIG prize. Lucinda is a new package John and I get to open every day - and night.
I will be back, and I am being gentle with myself and recovery. Stay tuned and thank you all - 6am peeps, I am thinking of you when I'm up doing a feeding at 5am-ish Mon/Wed/Fri!!
Sooo cute! Best wishes for the family
